Where the trail ends

I love the trails.

They avoid roads. Offer sanctuary. Lead to adventures.

But they need you.

Together with the guys from Woburn Sands Trail Maintenance, I have started documenting their up keep and development of the trails on my very doorstep.

They may lack exposure, altitude and vistas, but they offer escapism at its finest. From arriving home, I can be running or riding on a woodland trail in 15 minutes, starting from my front door.

They nurture, develop and expose areas of land to eyes that would otherwise miss them.

Walkers, riders and runners appreciate their work, but seldom do they get recognition for their voluntary time. All they want is the right to build and ride.

They are the trail builders.
