It’s 5 days till my “A” race.
It’s the first time I’ve ever referred to a race having this status, for the simple reason, I’ve trained. Up till now I’ve got by on a young body, luck and a week of agony for the following 7 days.
Training hasn’t all gone to plan. Life, work, personal projects and motivation have all played their part in derailing my schedule, but, despite this I am fitter, faster and lighter then I’ve been in years. Maybe ever!
2 months has given me a good platform to work from and the coming years are going to be interesting. In no way am I all I can be, afterall, 2 months is a blip of time, in a hopefully long life.
So, for now, I’m not tapering, I’m doing what I can to get rid of a cold which has set in over the weekend.
My nose is bunged up, throats no longer sore and on Saturday I want to demolish my time from last years Lakeland 50.
T-5 and counting.
