You are an Athlete

YOU ARE AN ATHLETE

It may sound counter intuitive, you’re not on the podium, sponsors aren’t kitting you out head to toe, you pay for everything and may not be the most consistent in training.

BUT YOU ARE AN ATHLETE

You work as hard to complete the race, you sweat, grimace, suffer and grit your teeth as much as the winner, if not more. Your muscles are fatigued, your glycogen stores depleted, head totally committed.

YOU ARE AN ATHLETE

At the end of the race, you’re the person the elite admire, your ability to be in the pain cave for longer, through a second night for bigger ultras, at the mercy of the weather and you mind.

You have their respect.

THINK LIKE AN ATHLETE

Think like an athlete and apply yourself as those you look up to would. Prioritise quality training sessions, long sleep, good nutritious food and above all, perceive yourself as athlete.

Body composition and your overall placing doesn’t make you an athlete, how you train, race and conduct yourself is the deciding factor. Hold your head high.
