104 – My #1BagChallenge

104

6.2 miles around the Longslade Trail yesterday with the core team at Woburn Bike Trails, walking the mtb singletrack, inspecting & auditing for future works

Gloves & a bag in hand, I was hoping the @trashfreetrails #1bagchallenge would be just that

10 litres was clearly insufficient – a 10 litre dry bag, bagel bag (edible not bikepacking) & clothing bag later, a haul of trail trash collected

104 items + 11 dog poo bags

Many more non cycle related products since the trail had its last deep clean, a clear indication that despite a trail being designated for specific user groups, many more may utilise & cant account for nature moving trash around the ecosystem

2 bottles showed signs of animal interaction, teeth marks at top and bottom, sad evidence of the damage and consequences our actions can cause

There’s still time to participate in the #1bagchallenge & that 1 bag could be a pocket, hand, what ever you can fill

Together as riders, runners & roamers, we can collectively care for our trails & wild spaces, picking up one piece of single use pollution makes a genuine difference

Let me know what you’ve picked up this April, we can all be part of Trash Free Trails Spring Clean
