It’s time for a change. Nothing drastic. No new hair style, diet or hobbies.
Instead somewhere to capture all activity related to raising awareness and funding for South Central Ambulance Charity. So, I’ve a new instagram page that’ll be the main home for all such shenanigans in the coming months
https://www.instagram.com/therunningresponder/
I’ve been a CFR for 2 1/2 years for my local community, responding to 999 calls predominantly in Milton Keynes, Newport Pagnell and the surrounding villages
Everything we do, from our training, uniform, equipment & Dynamic Response Vehicles or DRV are funded by @scasambulancecharity. Without the charity, we wouldn’t be able to help the community & it’s for this reason I run with a 15kg response bag, to raise funds and awareness of the work Community First Responders and the charity do
To date I’ve walked 3 miles every day in January 2023 with a 15kg response bag, walked 5 miles every day in January 2024 with a 15kg response bag, completed 2 4x4x48 challenges and ran Newport Pagnell Carnivals 5km in boots, uniform and a 15kg response bag.
I’ll be updating with challenges I’ve done over the past couple of years in the coming weeks as well as update you with what I’m currently doing & plans for 2025, including 10 miles off-road…….
If you have any questions about CFRs, the charity or how you can get involved, feel free to ask away
This is tremendous what you are doing, James. Here in Canada our local fire department runs a charity that really supports our community. That is amazing to respond to 999 calls in two and a half years. So many people you have helped. Thank you for your service. 🙏
