Movement has always been part of my life
The role it plays has increased in magnitude in the past 16 or so months. Whereas previously splits & structure formed the reason, now, any form of movement carries weight, however monotonous the same loop may feel at times
Breaking out of 4 walls; hearing, seeing, smelling… above all, expeqienciening the natural world that surrounds us can have profound effects. Physical & psychological, it’s movement that’s been a key focus during lockdowns & daily life, having adjusted to working from home
I’m honoured to be asked to be Mind BLMK’s Team Captain for their Minds in Action campaign, which puts other local charities head to head against one another, accumulating kilometres to support people in Bedfordshire, Luton & Milton Keynes
The free to participate virtual fitness challenge is taking place between the 23rd July – 6th August
Run, walk, cycle, swim, hop, skip – your times don’t matter, your pace has no bearing on the result. Your daily dog walk, cycle commute or training run can all be included, you don’t have to come up with an intricate plan to get moving if you’re already active
Hosted on GoJoe every kilometre you clock is tallied up & before you think about it, you cant freewheel your way to victory – not all kms are equal
I’d be stoked to see as many people (including you reading) taking part to aid the mental health of others
I’ll see you outside
